So many of us have "common dreams" such as teeth falling out, being out in the street in our pj's, flying, being chased but, unable to move and so many other things that dreams would make a perfect challenge subject!

It could open doors up to some really "wild" and imaginative shots....especially under "expert editing"!

Whuh??

I like the challenge suggestion! Just wasn't aware of the commonality of dreams of that nature. I once had a dream that I was sitting in an open UHaul trailer being towed through the sky by a Learjet at like a zillion miles an hour. It was weird and I woke up with a pounding headache but my teeth never fell out. :)

"Common dreams" such as teeth falling out (yes, I hate those moving teeth dreams), being out in the street in our pj's (or in our underwear), flying (floating, swimming through the air, sometimes up too high), being chased (yes, yikes) but unable to move (my ankles get tangled up) and so many other things ...

Do you ever have the tornado ones? Or is that only for those who grew up in the tornado belt?

I've had all of those except the tornado one. Among others: I'm back in high school, can't remember where my locker is or what class I'm supposed to go to and I'm late...geesh.

I recently had my first "photographer's nightmare" - a really bad dream where I couldn't depress the shutter button on my new camera. I couldn't figure out if the camera was broken or if it was human error. Sounds silly now, but it was really a distressing dream.

I read once that it's about fears of aging and decay, though I can't tell you the source of that interpretation.

Note to PhotoInterest: By the way, there have been challenges with this theme:

Dreams (Advanced Editing IV)

Dreams and Nightmares (Classic Editing)

Dreams II (Basic Editing)

"All kind of playing (playing instruments also), sliding, slipping and breaking branches are symbols of masturbation. The teeth falling out and extraction of them are symbols of castration as a punishment for masturbating (castration's complex)."

LOL....It's said that teeth falling out usually represents a feeling of "not being heard" or being unable to get the attention of others around you in your waking life. Don't sweat it.....it's a VERY common dream! Everyone has one at least once in their lives, even if they don't remember it. It's also said that it can represent a type of "vanity" where we feel that we are losing our looks or getting older type thing. Personally, I've found that I've had those dreams when I've tried to get my husband to do ANYTHING around the house! Seems like it's falling on "deaf ears"! *grin*

Then, it's time to have "Dreams IV" in EXPERT EDITING! *smile*

Kinda like "Photographer's Block"? *grin*

Sounds like you may need another hobby to take off some of the "edge" from photography! *wink*

Hey, that means that you had a feeling of "freedom" during that period of time in your life, but because you had a "tense" feeling afterwards, it likely means that you weren't quite comfortable with that freedom..."moving too fast" and not feeling in "control". Sort of a sense that your choices in this freedom weren't yours.

It's either that, or you're really wanting to be an astronaut! *wink*

I have never had the experience of a tornado yet, I'm TERRIFIED of them! I hope to never have to experience one. I do not even know why I'm so afraid of them.

Tornados generally represent a feeling of "upheaval" in your life that feels "destructive" (through your own fears). It's generally just your own interpretation of it and not reality. The fact that you grew up in a tornado belt makes it even more likely that it's your own feelings of "upheaval" because you know the destruction of a tornado very well. It's simply symbolic. I'm sure that those of us who don't live in a tornado belt, have other symbols for the very same thing.
