Yeah, seriously. When I first started shooting SLRs, I almost shat a brick at how expensive a piece of glass and metal was.

It's very cool. I wonder what benefit comes from cooling the glass and then remelting it.

It does worry me a bit that I actually know what "EF 500mm F/4L IS USM" means without looking it up. :)

wow....i don't feel so bad about chunking out a crapload of money for a lens any more....

I seem to remember the last time I saw this video that it's about a high-end specialty company, not typical mass-produced lenses. I doubt Canon and Nikon take 6 weeks to make a lens. :)
