A couple quick, honest thoughts. I think white is a good background for variety, but I think it would be great to see something *other* than plain white as a background in this series. I think it would be nice to incorporate something that gives people a flavor of who she is.
Sharpness seems to be a recurring issue in the shots you posted. Very few of them appear to be tack sharp, and some of them have artifacts here and there to liter the background up a bit.
And not to sound too critical, but the text overlay really doesn't look very professional to me.
On the positive side, she's a beautiful girl!

Maybe it's time I get new glasses...lol cause I actually spent extra sure to focus on the eyes doing this :( The artifacts etc, will be cleaned up before I go to print them for her. and the text overlay was her request.
Thanks for the comments though!
and ya she is really pretty :) (she's my cousin)

A few of them seem nicely focused, but I'm thinking that a few of them were possibly processed to the point where sharpness was lost (or to where it just looked a bit off)... or you were using such a shallow DOF that one eye was in focus much more so than the other. These two shots are examples of ones that don't seem sharp to me:

And this one just feels way too overprocessed:

so funny story... I was editing these with her there just to show her how this sort of this is done... sort of a way of making the point that the models she sees every day get this typ of treatment and that's why they always look so good. anyway, I did this shop in Portrait Pro 6 for fun and slide the skin slider all the way... she said she loved it and had to have it... so that's how it got in the set... I would never of my own free will process something for print like that :)
as for the shallow DOF yes I was using quite an shallow DOF (2.8) on many... that could be the problem

If you look carefully at this one, you can see the disadvantage of using a dramatically shallow DOF and why you have to be very cautious when doing so:
[thumb]655056[/thumb]
The focus appears to be crisp on the pink sleeve and arm on the right, but her face is out of focus. Just the small change in distance between her face and her sleeves from the camera makes a noticeable difference in the focus of the shot. Focus on the eyes has to be spot on at 2.8.
For that particular shot, using a 2.8 aperture wouldn't be appropriate anyway, since it appears that you probably wanted her entire body in focus (conversely, you have other shots where you were obviously trying to take advantage of the shallow DOF by blurring out parts of her body and maintaining focus on the face).

You have some good comments/critiques so far and I would like to echo some the good things. Also point out something I noticed when looking at your OP with all the thumbs. To me it seems that every picture has a different color cast. The color of her face/hair is different in a bunch of the pictures. I don't know what caused this, maybe AWB, or editing steps, but it just doesn't look consistant. 1005/6/7 are the best examples...the color cast seems to change in each photo. Other than that and the sharpness/background color brought up earlier, they look great. Nice poses and pretty model.

Edit: To expound...1006 looks warmer/richer than 1005 and 1007. The other two look cooler, more blue, and not as natural. The color in 1006 looks better IMO and the other two.

Actually I didn't use AWB I set my cammera to 4300 and left it there for the shoot... only thing I can think of is the relection of her clothing... I'll take a better look at them today when I go home, and make some adjustments to the set. |

I am not sure what it could be...but you can definately see a difference between 1005 and 1006, look at the highlights in her hair on the left side of the shot...1005 highlights seem almost blue. |
