Was wondering if anyone has seen something like this before.
My pictures coming out of my camera today have splits in the image and I cannot figure out why. I have switched to different lenses, reformated the CF card, cleaned the sensor. I am totally baffled.

| Have you tried a different CF card? Even reformatted a bad card will be a bad card. |

Editted to remove all my questions as I had missed the link to the photos.
The photos ruled out all my guesses. I would try another CF card, but otherwise looks like the camera might need repair.

If it was a problem with the curtain, you'd see all black and not a split like that. I agree with trying the format, if that doesn't work I'd point the finger at the sensor or something equally as bad.

I tried another card and it does the same thing.

| Looks like a corrupted file, how many of your pics are like this? When you look at the photo on the cameras LCD, do you notice this on the photo or is it only after the transfer to the computer it appears? |

I looked on the camera via the lcd at this one pic and it does not appear to be this way on the camera reading from the CF card.
Could the image be distorted this way when I download? |

defintley sounds like a transfer issue, try what incubus stated or even a new usb cable from the camera to the computer and a diferent usb port. See if that helps. |

That must have been it. I have vista and totally don't care for it. I went back to a prior restore point and then took some more photos and now they transfer correctly.
Is it bettter to use the USB cord or get a card reader? Or does it not make a difference? |

| Glad you found the problem. I have not plugged a camera into a computer in five years. Card reader is the best way to go. Faster transfer and no battery drain on the camera. |
