Your choice for the challenge was obviously the correct one... :-D ...however, this shot is adorable! It could possibly be enhanced a smidge by getting rid of the checkered mat/background in the lower right.

Here are my outtakes.

This is the one I should have submitted but I just really wanted to submit a shot that wasn't just a headshot in addition to only the one eye being sharp irritated me. The light is a lot better in this one though than most of the others.



This is really my favourite though but unfortunately I didn't nail the DOF


Another contender:



This one is almost the same as my entry:


I picked that one because it shows off Nikta's personality a bit rather than having her just sitting there looking like a very pretty cat statue. I also wanted a shot that had all of her in it rather than just the head (although I would have gone with the yum! shot if the focus were ok in it)

It probably wouldn't have come in 3rd to last, that's for sure! :)
