Dropped down overnight to where my shots usually hang out. It was doing really well, then got hit with a bunch of 5's shortly after my first post to this thread.

I think they were into the happy juice friday nite when they started voting (drunk) and then today everyone is voting all hung over and grumpy.
Oh well, I have no right to complain about this for a score, but being above 7 and close to my PB was just a tease I guess. |

This is my first DP Challenge and I have a few questions.
Here are my current results.
Votes: 49

Avg Vote: 5.9592
Two questions for all you seasoned veterans. (1) With about 50 votes in, should I expect my avg vote to stay about the same or is it still too early to decide? I feel like I'm keeping track of a Super Tuesday event. (2) Is 5.9592 a decent score or should I go place my camera equipment on Ebay? :)
...Okay one more question. Is it typical to have a higher number in views vice votes?

1 Am thinking it shouldn't change more than .3 from now (though normaly use 100 votes as my yardstick)
2 Yes, 5.9 is a decent score and especially so for you first challenge (though don't know your history)
3 Another yes, I've had as much as a 3:1 ratio but around 1.5:1 to 2:1 is normal.

Thanks. (My camera was a Christmas present, prior to that I used mainly point and click cameras.)

Got slammed with a bunch of low scores this afternoon, dropping me to a 5.48. I thought it was better than that, but we all do. I think I'm doing some good shots, but I'm not quite nailing the "Wow factor" or the "broad appeal" that is needed to score highly here.

Great shots Option, as always. I am looking forward to spring here so our herons come back. I have now located a nesting area for them as well. Love the shot you have of the one with the fish. :)
ETA: couldn't you have shown more of the environment around them, instead of just a "bird on a moon rock shot"? LMFAO (inside joke)

I'm pretty happy with this so far. Even happier if it swings back up later in the week. Free Study's are pretty tough on the scoring I think, with so much competition. Even so, this photo will likely make it onto my profile page as one of my top shots. I figure that's a pretty good result.
