My Exposure compensation seems to be STUCK at +2. This is on the top readout where you adjust it by pressing the ISO-flash+/- button, and then using the large dial on the back to dial it up & down while the on/off switch is past the ON position all the way to the accessory position.
Now, without flash, and in Av mode, I'm blowing headlights like a mofo.
How can I get it back to zero?

Nevermind, I fixed it.
I put my external flash onto the camera and adjusted back to zero and it finally stayed. I hope I could have done it by popping up the onboard flash, because it's stupid to make that setting stick.
I'm no longer blowing my highlights on Av. :-)

But now after dashing over to my camera to see if I could work out what you needed to do I have managed to get my stuck at -1 and I didn't even get my flash out of my bag. Damn you! ;o)

Using the ISO/Flash is the Flash Exposure Control (FEP). To adjust you exposure compensation make sure your On/Off switch is all the way up (two steps), push your shutter control half way, use your back command dial to adjust to your desire (watch the top LCD to see where it's going to)
ETA: I pulled my camera out and I can change the FEP without a flash attached or the onboard flash.

Good thread - I was too manly to admit that I may or may not have had a similar (possibly the exact same) problem. I almost *gulp* opened the owners manual (a decidedly unmanly thing to do) - although I may just do that anyway as it seems I know little about this camera. At least for the time being, you've saved me from such shame, and for that I thank you. |
