ok, I'm not sure about your camera model but in order to get to the sensor you need to lock open the shutter, You seem to be locking the mirror up but the shutter is still closed so you probably are not even touching the sensor. Check out the manueal on your model or google to see how to lock the shutter open thus exposing the sensor. Before you touch the sensor make sure you have read the tutorial on coopehills page. |

There is usually an option in the menu that you need to select if you want to clean the sensor. Read your manual on how to do this. What you are actually cleaning is the high pass filter which sits in front of the sensor. This is where all the gunk ends up that needs to be cleaned. |

Okay, What I just did was take the lens off and lock the shutter open. Only thing I could find on this was the actually locking of the mirror because in the settings that's all it suggests. Anyway I took my air compressor and set it to about 10psi and blew all around in there. The results are much better but still have some dust in the upper left corner. I guess in the morning I will do it again but for right now I am SO MUCH happier with the results and I think there is only 3 or 4 bunnies left.
Guys thank you so much for all your help. I will post a new picture tomorrow, I'm off to shoot some shots in the dark...

cool, glad to hear it. I know the canon custom functions but had no idea for your model. You can cause your self to go insane trying to get all the dust without actually swabbing the sensor, but that is another day, happy shooting. |
