My daughter and I headed out today (she got three cameras for Christmas).

This is her picture of me. Yes it's blurry, yeah, a little overexposed. But it's with a toy camera, taken by a three year old! She has taken to demanding that we pose for her, even in the studio. In the studio she'll pull out columns, a chair or stool, and drag her daddy in and make him sit, while she climbs up on another stool so she can look through the 20d on it's camera stand and shoot him.

Here's mine of her taking her shot!

So what do you guys think. When should I get her her own account?

I am not sure when to get her own acct, but its good that you are starting her young. My 7 yr old does a lot of photography along side of me. I am teaching him photoshop as well as I go along. He doesnt have an acct here yet, but maybe this summer I will let him enter some challenges. He has a very creative mind.

Sign her up! Check in this thread for info on a waiver you'll have to fill out and send to Langdon.

She will probably take the record for youngest registered user -- my son IsaacM88 was signed up when he was five.

Start preparing excuses for when she finishes higher than you in a challenge.

My three yo looked at me unexpectedly yesterday and said, "Mama, buy me a camera."

I would, but i'm afraid she would be better than me. :)

I don't think she would be the youngest. I seem to remember someone's kid entering a couple when he was about two.

If the sample of your daughter's photography is typical, she's got the potential to do really well. The composition is great and the faults can certainly be blamed on the camera rather than the photographer.

Edit: Found it. SamuelDPC

One of my daughters has been asking me about joining too. She got a new camera for Christmas too, and loves going out with me to shoot. She is 13 but I have been debating the issue too. It is not so much the voting as she has a strong sense of self, as much as it is access to the forums. I have been here for going on three years and although I must say I have not found a forum with better moderation or a community so well suited to the respect of its ToS. I am being too over protective probably, but I am sure we will see a young howzitee soon
