alright, my printer lives on my desktop which is a PC. i have two laptops, one pc and one mac. sharing the printer so the pc laptop can see it is simple enough. how can i share it so the mac can see it and use it as well?

PS - im a PC guy, so i might be missing something really obvious...

In Mac OS (10.5 and later) choose System Preferences from the Dock, click Sharing, then Printer Sharing. Voila!

Are the laptops networked? Or do you just want to be able to use the printer when connected to either laptop?

Is the printer connected to the PC or is it located on the network itself?

You need to turn Printer Sharing "on" at the computer networked to the printer (if one of them is). The other one (the one 'borrowing') should have Printer Sharing "off".

You haven't mentioned which version(s) of the OS you are running on each machine.
