Raise It Up
I walked through Harlem a week or so back and had a wonderful experience that came flooding back, which I better and more fully understood when this song Raise It Up was performed of the Academy Awards the other night. The themes of the song practically mirrored my thoughts when I took this picture. As I read some of the very cool comments I received I was super happy that it connected with some folks as I'd intended. It's not easy to convey points of this topic because many people (including myself) tend to see red when religious symbols are introduced and themes of hope register differently on a person to person basis. Unless you stand in someones shoes you can;t fully understand their situation.
Give it a look and feel free to comment.
Cheers!
ETA: The little boy in the video reminded me of me when I walked into a few of the Churches that day. It was a very powerful experience, given my own lack of religion.

Nice shot.
I try to see the best, uplifting, hopeful parts of various religions in their symbols.
