It was very wierd. I was laid in bed watching TV and the house just started to shake- woke Amanda up- crapping herself, but I thought it was quite exciting, lol...( I know, I wouldn't say that if it was 6+ quake )..lasted around 10 seconds and at first I thought that a truck had hit our house. The strange thing was, at it happended, the wind seemed to stop and outside was quite eerie!! This is probably the first and last time our little Hull gets mentioned on CNN/SKY news, lolol

Prety normal for around here :)
Most of them though are under the sea and in great depth so they don't cause damages.
btw. the scale is logarithmic so a 5mag earthquake is 10 times more powerfull then a 4mag and a 6.7mag is 100 times (10*10) then a 4.7mag.

Whoa, glad it wasn't worse. I've supposedly been in a couple of tremors (one in Illinois, one in New York), but I slept through both of 'em! :-) |

i was close the epicenter of a 7.6 quake in costa rica in 1991.
it was pretty wild and pandamonium in streets. it was on the news in the states, and i had no way of calling home. no cell phones back then... i was only 16 at the time and had travelled alone. needless to say when i called my mom from JFK a couple days later she was pretty happy to hear from me ;}

I secretly hoped it was going to turn out like Cloverfield, or the dead had risen... turns out it was a boring old earthquake :( |
