Thanks coolhar, that also is my favorite. I have it in an 8 meg tiff format that I thought about putting into print so I was trying to keep the 8x10 format. That's why it's a little long at the bottom... |

I have been totally lost for the last three hours. I got some more (hopefully) awesome pics I will post later. Now I have to go find my kid. I was supposed to pick him up at school!

Thank You
Yes I did use a tripod, but it's a very light Slik. I leave my monster Bogen at home, it's way too heavy to carry.

I really like the layout in some of them, but they seems a bit washed out in parts of the photos. Just a little suggestion if you don't mind~ wait till later in the day or early morning and while using your tripod, open the shutter up a little longer. I think it might come out with a bit more detail. I tried it with some of mine and it really works, but you must use a tripod and has to be a bit darker.
Here are some of mine that I took a couple of weeks ago.

mag....the colors of the maple are really good. Not sure how you process the picture to maintain such real representation, but it works. Mine look like a painting when I'm done editing and not the clear definition of the leaves/color.
spazmo...1st picture really shows perspective w/the grass reeds @ the bottom left corner. There was a barn picture posted earlier in another thread and this was the detail that I was trying to describe - very well done.
sonifo...wonderful composition on the 1st photo. I can hear the water.
toocool....great thread. Glad you started it.
to all....thanks for the education. |

Thanks, Flash. Was there one in particular that you were curious about? I'm happy to share my process :)

I think that it may be a case of differences in monitors rather than overall exposure, when I look at your pics on my monitor, they seem a bit dark and mine look just fine. I have to believe that it is my monitor that is out of whack and not yours, as it is several years old and may be needing replacement. If I turn the brightness all the way up on my monitor, your pics look great and mine do look a bit washed out, but my eyes hurt after a while. The prints out of my printer seemed to match pretty well with the screen last time I did any serious printing, but I'll have to take another look.
To be honest, the light may have improved as it got later, but since this was just a stop on the way home, I needed to get home before the kids staged a coup against my wife and assumed control ;-). I also was pretty far into the woods and am not really familiar with the area. I was a bit concerned about it getting dark and me getting lost. I normally wouldn't mind sleeping outside, but it is getting colder here and I usually like to prepare for camping. All kidding aside, I think your comments are great, and I will have to make some more trips out there. Probably packing a flashlight, a warmer coat and a GPS.
Thanks for the feedback!
I really like your photos too, they are very well done. Not just the ones you posted above, but your entire body of work on here is just great to look at.
