On the news report they said it was a warehouse club (think Sam's Club, BJ's or Costco). It was probably a 50-lb or larger bag.

The accused already confessed and handed over the card to police, so what else is the lawyer going to say?

I'm sure at this point the lawyer's goal is to keep his client of jail, in which case, he seems to be taking exactly the right approach.

i spose - maybe it just read odd to me.
though, i'm not certain i'd like to be called stupid, publically by my lawyer

"Stupid?" That's a nice way of saying it. At least no one was physically hurt.
That kind of thing happens more than we think. My mother in law started about 10 credit cards using my wife's ID information. That was several years ago, and it still isn't completely concluded legally. You never know about people.
