Nice and clear to the west of here (San Diego) but enough clouds to the east I can't even tell where the moon is right now.

Photos! cool! Here in the Valley of the Sun we have complete cloud cover. There's a red glow in the sky - could be city lights, could be that red moon. In any case I'm seeing nothing. :o(

Post it in your portfolio. Then open the pic and you'll see the URL has an ID number at the end. Then in the posting box, where you want to insert the pic, click the little icon above the box, second from the right, that looks like two little rectangles. Paste in the ID number and hit "OK."

For example, this one of yours has an ID of 649346:

back on topic, we had a snowstorm this afternoon, of all things, that completely cleared by the time the action started. Been popping out and in for an hour now. Shooting every once in a while.

For those wanting settings, I'm at F/8, ISO 100, 3-6 seconds (I keep varying it).

Are you using a tripod? If so, figure out how to lock up your mirror. That will reduce the vibration, making the picture sharper.

Man I got some GREAT shots with my 200
02/20/2008 10:34:09 PM · #194
Just looked through all of mine, and they're all blurry. Heading to try again. Maybe I'll take off the teleconverter.

Mirror lockup is one of the custom functions on your camera. When enabled, the first press of the shutter button flips the mirror up and keeps it there. The second press exposes the sensor without the tiny vibration of the mirror slap.

this is the best I could do with my point and shoot. after reading my manual and adjusting everything on my dslr, I couldn't get it to shoot in the dark. guess I should have practiced first.
