Anyways, he always beats me to the punchline when I'm about to post a funny reply. We must think alike.
Seriously though, I missed all the e-drama but don't let it ruin a good thing. |

I haven't kept up with the furor, but sheesh. Leroy adds a lot of interest to the forums for me.
I'm all for more freedom in the forums, at least. But there's never been much of that. I've just accepted it as the way DPC is. If I want to write freely I go elsewhere.

At least somebody made the connection! ref: we should be kissing leroy's azz for taking the stand!
Bottom line is that some people make some pretty dumb comments about models. Its not easy to find a model let alone one to pose in various stages of nudity. many of the models check on their photos and take these comments to heart. we as photographers need means to protect them. this brings to mind this photo  and the insanity that insued.
Minimally we should have a check box on each photo that can hide comments.

Seriously, I hope he doesn't go, I love his look at photography and his wonderful sense of humour. It's his fault that I've spluttered tea onto my monitor many times laughing out loud at something he'd written ;-)
If he decides to leave, I'll respect his decision but I'll be really sad. |

He should definately stay. He has a good sense of humor in the forums and is a pationate man when it comes to protecting his models. |

Quite frankly, I don't think he does try that hard to protect his models - sometimes I feel that the models Leroy uses are being exploited. Some of the models he uses for nude or semi nude shots aren't as slim or shapely as most nude models - while this in no way makes them less beautiful as humans they are kind of "not ready for prime time" nudes. I often times think this is unfair to the girl to take a nude or semi nude picture and put it up on the internet where it might get negative comments if they are slightly plump or whatever.
I know it sounds prudish but I really feel very strongly that young women should be protected from expoitation in nude photography. Hopefully, all the models used for nude photography really want to be photographed in the nude and haven't been convinced to do so. |
