		| | Hi, today I finally bought a new Canon Speedlite 430 flash! :D and it's amazing, but I have a question.
AF assist beam works only if I set my camera to fully automatic (that I don't want). Is that normal? If it is, why is it normal, cause it makes no sense?
And can I make it work with A, T or M modes on my camera?
 tnx

		| | Should work in the other modes as well. It might not go off because the camera sees enough light to focus without the assist beam?

:( well, it doesn't go off... even if I try in full darkness.

		| | Is you lens set to AF? Also, I think there are costum functions on the camera and perhaps on the flash which let you deactivate the AF-assist beam. Refer to your manual to find the relevant Costum Function entry.

		| | It should work fine in all of those modes. However, it won't work in AI Servo mode or Manual focus modes.
