'k .. i fianlly get around to buying the two 500gig drives to back up MORE of the pictures ..
(should be good for another couple of years ..)
(no .. you misunderstood .. i was backing up but they are all full .. )
swap a drives into the usb box / windows doesn't like it so try to format ..
the computer hangs ... wait wait ... reset/reboot
comes back .. acts a bit wonky but try again . ..same thing happens
say screw it & detach the usb drive .. computer desides not to comeback normally
(like taking anhour to reach log on ..)
try to reset to last good point thru fail safe / hangs on reboot ... aaghhh..
umm.. if this keeps on .. please be paitient on any validation requests ..
(yes my linux box works just fine thankyou ... but no photoshop :(

| Have you got the latest service pack installed? I know XP without any service packs won't read a drive larger than about 120GB properly. If Linux works then the hardware should be working properly. |

yes / the machne currently has 200,300& 400gig drives
patches are all up to date ..

after a couple of reboots / disable bios functions / enable bios functions ..
it's up again ... (bit scary.. time to do back up now ;) !!

Good to hear. I've also had issues with Windows not wanting to boot and having to disable a whole bunch of BIOS settings to get it to work. If only Photoshop and Lightroom ran on Linux... |
