1979, just about at the end of their run before Bonham dies but at the same time at the height of their power, yes this is the sound of The Hammer of the GODS!

Physical Graffiti was one of the main soundtracks to my high school years. I still remember buying the album and sitting for hours spellbound as I played with the die-cut cover. An epic album and this live performance is one of the best I've seen. Thanks for sharing.

Slightly off-topic, but I just recently discovered that XMRadio has channel 59 dedicated to Led Zeppelin. Any time you need a fix, just tune in.

I find myself flipping to it late at night heading home from the airport - keeps me awake for the drive.

If any of you are interested, there is a CMT "Cross Roads" show with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss that just premiered last week. Led Zeppelin meets Appalachia sort of thing. "When the Levee Breaks", sung sweet female with a bluegrass flavor to it was actually pretty interesting. Duet of "Black Dog" was outstanding. No, it's not Led Zeppelin, by any stretch. But Krauss is very adept, not bad to look at, and Plant can still put it out there. Catch it if you can, it's worth your time.

This is great! I have tickets for Led Zepagain at HOB next week on my birthday, and this helps get me in the mindset. I was a huge Led Zeppelin fan in high school also. Seeing them live helps me be less critical of a cover band not being exactly like the album.
