Can anyone point me toward some tutorials on adusting and importing RAW? I played around with it some last night and was overwhelmed by some the adjustments and choices. That indicates I need to educate myself on the concepts.

You might be best off with tutorials specific to the software that you're using. Once you understand how to use one program you can apply the same techniques to most others.

I use Paint Shop Pro, and I also have the Canon software that came with my Rebel. Also downloaded the freeware "Rawshooter" which I understand is very good but no longer in development due to acquisition by Adobe.

Did you look on the Canon site? Last I was on the Canon Canada site there was a tutorial on how to use DPP.

No I haven't looked there yet. I suppose that should have been the obvious first choice. I'll go there next and I need to read the on disk manual as well. Thanks.

Primarily what I am looking for is overall concepts that I can apply to any software, not the "click here, now click here" stuff. I am a concepts person. If I understand the concept of what I am doing, I can usually apply it in any environment.

I'm with you on that which is why I don't like the Scott Kelby books. I think the tutorial on the Canon site is a little bit of both. They are promoting their own software, right?
