A friend of mine just picked up a used Rebel and had this Focal DT-5000 Zoom flash from her film days lying around. Does anyone know if this flash would do any damage to the camera using them together? I have done some searching and I am having a hard time finding much info on it. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

It appears that you can order an instruction manual from here:

The specs could then be compared to a Canon Speedlite.

I suspect that you'd need some sort of adapter anyway. It seems to be a flash for a Super 8 movie camera.
