Somebody once described how they modified their Peleng 8mm so as to reduce its minimum focus distance to zero. Does anybody remember how to do that or can someone point me to that thread? I can't find it anymore.

extension tubes?

No modification is really necessary. The M42-to-Canon EOS adapter can be slightly unscrewed, resulting in moving the lens farther from the sensor plane. Only a millimeter or so of movement is necessary to decrease the minimum focus distance to near zero. Careful of unscrewing too far!

ETA, even the thinnest EOS extension tube (12mm) is way too long.

Thanks Kirbic, that was the technique I had in mind. Do you know whether doing so has any negative effects on the overall quality? I.e. should I move it back when I don't need to focus on zero?
