YEA! for once I'm ahead of 'Choo!!...
...quickly marks this on the board before Jason streaks past in the remaining challenges!
I guess I don't fully understand how the "Improv Points" work but so far they look good!

Yeah - is there an explanation for that? is it something to do with average vote received?

I think you might find some info in here. This was posted in the other FSM thread.

2008 Free Study Marathon added Information.

I just wanted to let participants and members that are considering signing up for the 2008 FSM about a exciting change.

Point System
Points will be awarded each month to each participant based on their placement. The top score will receive the highest points while the lowest score will receive the lowest points; if a participant does not enter they will receive no points. This stays the same as 2007 FSM.

NEW:
The 2008 FSM will include new column called "FSM vs. Overall Avg Points". These points are not awarded each month but will change each month based on the difference between your Overall Avg (as of Jan. 1, 2008) and your current 2008 FSM Avg. Each month your FSM avg will change, the Member with the best improvement will score the highest points and the Member with the lowest improvement will score the lowest points.

If you have any question feel free to PM me or post in forum.

Thanks,
SDW

**removed a copy of Venom's post - am too slow!**

Am guessing the the most points you can have in this column at the end of the year is 179?

114th place? I made photo-gods angry :(

I have to sacrifice a DSLR under aurora lights while watching flying humming birds in a heated cage. Then I have to burn couple of woodies bottom of a beacon tower...

After I am done, I have to carve "I will get 7+ next time" 5400 time on a rock using nothing but a plastic hammer.

:/

Hi everyone.
Things around here have be wild over the last month with my wife having surgery, moving, and me having to be sent to the ER by ambulance. Not only that my youngest son has been sick and all of us are just now getting over the cold.

I will update everyones username. Sorry for being so slow. If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
Scott

I seem to be the Blue Ribbon winner for improvement points.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Improvement score is the average of your Free Study Scores this year (which will obviously change each month) less your average score on 1/1/08. Points are then applied as an inverse of the improvement score.

Do I understand correctly?

yup, as I said earlier I believe at the end of the year the person with the most improved average gains 179 points - still to be confirmed mind you.
