I have this combo, and I have 3 questions:
1) How do I adjust the default aperture that the camera uses in P mode. It defaults to F4. Is there a way to change this?
2) I read in the manual that the flash is fill only in Av mode. Is there no way around this? It seems like such an obvious feature to be able to have full flash capability in Av mode!
3) I want to adjust the sync speed in P mode. It always defaults to 1/60. The manual says it auto picks between 1/60-max. The manual says you can adjust sync speed in fill mode (Av).
Thanks in advance,
Chad

To answer your first question: I believe the 5D has what is referred to as 'program shift'. Just use the main dial (the one near the shutter button) to change it. |

Here's what I do:
1) I use Av mode when it's daylight and the flash is being used for fill only.
2) I switch to manual mode (set the shutter and aperture) when the flash becomes the primary source of light.
