Hey everyone,

I am in the market for purchasing a new 5D soon, and I was wondering if it's true of the new "5D mkII" or "7D", etc.

If you were to buy this camera (The current 5D), when's the best time, etc. I am on a budget, but am looking to buying this camera before March, when my rush of weddings are going to start.

Any rumors, knowledge, rebate information, advice on this purchase will be greatly appreciated, thank you all so much :D

How long do you need to get comfortable with the new body... subtract from March and that's when you need to pull the trigger :-) Seems like there is not an upgrade until the next big photo show - is it Sept or something near autumn - but who knows.

Jon - the net's awash with rumours about a 5D mkII, and the common belief is that it will not make an appearence before autumn. This is because Canon only tend to make announcements at major photo events which tend to fall in spring and autumn. The 450D was released in the spring event (which was early this year).

If you are on a limited budget it's probably worth buying the current 5D as the new one will attract a premium, especially to start with and you might also want to look at gettign a refurb.

If you want Rumours I quite like this site. If you scroll down there's a host of info/rumours/links - enjoy
