I can't tell you how much this footage freaks me out as a parent and pediatrician. It's hard for me to even watch, but it's pretty amazing.

Nice. I actually fell into a pool at the deep end as a child (who couldnt swim properly at the time) and remember it vividly with all the bubbles around me and a hand reaching down to grab me out. Not afraid of water now as one might expect (maybe it wasnt traumatic enough) - infact i love it, but that is amazing stuff and from my experience i know how useful and life-saving it is. Pools really arent safe places for toddlers/babies... |

I was worried that the baby in the blue jumper was so relaxed that he was going to fall asleep. Truly an amazing demonstration of the ability of babies to adapt! |

Holy cow Doc our youngest thought that he could breath underwater despite having swimming lessons and we have had to save him three times from this thought. Now we never took our eyes off him while he was in the lake or the pool but it happens in the blink of an eye. This was hard to watch but worth it. Isaac is soon to be ten and over the breathing underwater thing but my sister has a 4 year old and an 18 month old so I'll pass this along to her.
Thank you for the post.
MAX! |

Ya, I saw those photos as well. Pretty good, but I thought they lacked contrast, and I did see a bit of noise in them, most likely due to a high ISO setting. I give them a 6.
NO I'M JOKING! I saw those on the news a few days ago.. Heart stopping. I couldn't imagine having to do such a thing. |

Well I used to lifeguard and teach swimming lessons and I cannot stress how important it is to get your children into the pool as soon as possible. Even basic skills like kicking your feet could save your childs life, and it's a great way for them to socialize and have some fun.

wow...and i thought the baby in the water was bad..omg having the only option of dropping your baby hopeing someone will catch him/her or all burn to death life is cruel. |

Wow, is right! That's so cool that a child can just relax though until help arrives.

I watched this amazing video with tears in my eyes as I remembered only too well the drowning death of the son of a very dear friend.
I personally do not have any toddlers roaming about the house, but rest assured that I will make a point making this video available to as many people as I can.
Thanks for sharing Doc.
