My wife and I are going on vacation March 9th - 14th at the

FOX RIVER RESORT
2558 N. 3653 Road
Sheridan, Illinois 60551

We did have another couple coming with us that knew the area a bit but they can not come anymore. So I thought I would use this opportunity to meet some DPC members and see the area the right way. Our only real plan is to go to Chicago a couple of those days. We also have just being toying with the idea of flying somewhere totally different for one day to just make the trip a bit more extensive. This is our first big trip in almost two years so we want to make it good. If anyone would like to meet up and show us around I would gladly take you out to dinner or something along those lines. Obviously I want to take some pictures so keep that in mind also.

Well maybe no one lives around there...what about people who have visited here. What are some things we can look for. Places we should go. I want to sorta plan the trip out before we go.

I used to live in Chicago, so I know the area reasonably well. I believe this is pretty close to the Starved Rock State Park, which is worth a visit. Although, not sure what the weather will be up to at that time of year. I went there around the same time last year and the valley was fairly well flooded. But it was very mild last year. Also, if you are driving in to Chicago, then you may want to consider a stop at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle. I used to visit there often as I worked quite close by. It's open all year round and there is always something to see.

Those were the two that immediately sprang to mind. Of course, it depends a bit on what your tastes are too. There's a very good outlet mall also on the way into Chicago, in Aurora if I remember rightly (you can't miss it as it's just off the highway Rte 88)
