This was taken the first night I got my studio put together. As far as the posing Justin is much much taller then Janelle, so I didn't really want them on the same level in all the pictures, so I thought this was a good balance. I have shot in a studio before but never really directed the lights myself with the settings, location, etc... so this was kinda new to me. I didn't get around to using my light-meter on this quick shoot but I will from now on...
Editing included touching up minor blemishes, minor sharpening, curves, minor surface blur...

Feedback would be great!

I think it looks good, skin tones are nice. I can see 2 flashes in the eyes, maybe move one so you only get one reflection not two. But I don't know what I'm talking about rally.

I liked the two catch lights in their eyes in this case, I thought it highlighted their eyes nicely, and catch lights caused by the softbox camera left were pretty light. I could always clone them out real easy though too if they are a distraction.

I like the catch lights in your image. The overall lighting looks really nice. Well done.

I like they eyes and detail and everything else. Not sure about the crop taking off the side of the woman's hair, maybe zooming out would have helped... but that's compositional, not lighitng.

The lighting is great, better than my stuff :) But i think the background is a bit sucky, makes everythig look a bit drab and dull. If it were white (by shining a light directly onto it) i think you'd have a much better picture, or even better, stick a gel in front of the light and make it blue to go with the lady's top.

Great except for the background which is dull.

I think the lighting is fine, a little "mall portrait" looking meaning kind of flat due to lights on both side of camera. It's safe, but not very dramatic.
I think the crop is a little tight on the woman though. Her head is kind of squeezed into the corner. I would like to see more of her. If you have to crop in the vertical, I would take a little from his head and give her the extra room. You could pose them a little tighter too, his mouth aligned vertically with her eyes - a traditional couples alignment.
Dual catch lights are not an issue for me but I know some people get worked up about them.
As for the background, it is a little dull. You could brighten like others said, or darken by moving the lights closer to the subjects and the subjects farther away from the background.

I agree with the other posters about: The crop, you should be a bit looser on her. The lighting is pretty flat, try going to a more dramatic ratio, nothing crazy tho. And, yes, the BG is pretty dull, try adding a gel to the BG light, if nothing else.

Thanks for the comments and critiques!
I was using my 50 mm 1.4 and moving around, so for this one I just was a little too tight on the side of her face, I noticed that too.
The background is actually white, I had a background light with a shovel on it for some of the shots, and a grid for others, but I took the background light completely out for this one to go gray. My gels just arrived though so i will be able to test those out today :)
The lighting, yes I agree it is a bit flat, I will be using my lightmeter from now on and will try give them a little bit more shape.

Thanks everyone, i appreciate it :)
