It seems as if user submissions currently are ordered alphabetically in the left hand frame on the homepage, but the Update button is at the bottom - so if you've got 3 submissions in, unless you've got a very high res monitor you can't see the change in score when you hit update.

Would it be possible to move the update button to the top, and then order submissions by voting deadline (i.e. soonest to finish at the top)..??

Enter less challenges - easier that way.
;)

Actually you can do it yourself by making a Tab and assign it the properties:
//dpchallenge.com/challenge_stats.php?action=update
(or drag the update button up to the Tab bar)

Top left is a good location, that way you will have an update button on top of your images.

That doesn't work for me, it just loads the entire front page

What Browser & Operating system and are you using Tabs?

Firefox Tabbed Browsing

Internet Explorer Tabbed Browsing FAQ

You can also add a Bookmark, say using DPC's Homepage, then go to the Bookmark, right-click it, select properties, and paste this in it's place: //dpchallenge.com/challenge_stats.php?action=update (or right-click over the Update Button and choose Bookmark this link)

I'm using IE.

No matter what I do, it always loads the entire page for me. If I copy and paste, add a bookmark, open in new tab or open in new window it's all the same.

Ummmm - you do have a picture in a challenge I assume?
If not, the update button only loads the home page.

I have the same problem; it just gives me a new front page in a new browser tab...

ETA: right-click>bookmark worked.

Brad, I don't understand what you mean. Quasimojo wants the update button at the top, not the bottom, and he wants the pics arranged in reverse chronological order.

Going to //www.dpchallenge.com/challenge_stats.php?action=update just gives you the same result as clicking the update button. It doesn't move the update button or re-order the pics in the left bar.

I'm using Firefox and IE on both Win XP and a Mac.

Or are you saying it does for you?

If you bookmark the update button to the bookmarks toolbar, it's always right up there and you don't have to scroll to update; just hit the toolbar link and it does it for you.

I apply the corollary of the "fine dining/boat-buying" rule:

If you have to scroll down to know how your photo is doing, you don't really need to know ...

Just drag the Update link to your toolbar...and it is there forever. You click it whenever you want with no scrolling.

This seems to open DPC in a new tab for at least some of us. Right-clicking on it and bookmarking it doesn't.

That's odd...I use Firefox and I have it sitting up the top of my window...and it never opens in a new window...just updates the score and refreshes the current page.

That's what I expected also, but when I dragged it up, it opened a new window when I clicked it. I bookmarked it to the toolbar and it works fine... Go figure...

Ah, right - the bookmarks bar. I thought Brad was talking somehow about the actual update button within the page.

Still doesn't rearrange the photos, but it's a decent workaround for the button itself.
