Interesting. Anyone know of a similar map of U.S. fiber?

we looked at one really breifly at school, id have to dig through my school notes and such to find, it looked kinda like this

There's a LOT of fiber in the US. It would be very difficult to show it all on a map.

At least with the middle east having so much of their internet capacity cut off by the cable cuts, it's reduced some of the spam hitting the rest of the world. Now if the same thing would only happen to China and Russia, 75% of the world supply of spam and viruses would go away.

Anywhere there are railroads, there are big fiber links going acrss the US. It use to be every time there was a train derailment it took out a fiber link. Now there are so many paths it can get routed around a break real quick. I remember back in the 80's that Sprint advertised it was the only all fiber telephone company. It was funny because we knew at MCI that our fiber infastructure was way bigger than Sprint... we just couldn't say we were all fiber because we also had microwave, satellite, radio and copper paths. But Sprint thought it sounded good. :D
