I have a Fujifilm S602Z and I am rapidly realizing that I would like to be able to expand my camera's capability for wide angle and telephoto shots.

Consequently, I have just begun looking around on the net for conversion kits for my camera. Fuji has two kits available, the WL-FX9 Wide Conversion Lens and TL-FX9 Teleconversion. These lenses are screwed onto the FUJI AR-FX9 adapter. I also noticed that Kenko has lenses as well.

What I want to know is:

1) Can Kenko lenses be adapted to work on Fuji digital cameras (mostly interested in S602Z compatability)?

2) Has anyone used the Kenko lenses before? If so, what is you opinion on these products? I know that Kenko has been around at least from the 1960's, but have no idea on the quality of their product.

2) Some of the Kenko lenses have a 52 mm adapter ring. Could I add a 55 mm to 52 mm step down ring to adapt these lenses to the end of the FUJI AR-FX9 adapter (55 mm) without losing image quality?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I can not answer about your camera, but I have the titanium series 2x and .45x for my Olympus c5050. They are awesome at medium range and for details. They did not do what I was hoping though. I wanted more range for taking wildlife shots. It helped but not as much as I hoped, so I may upgrade to a D-SLR for the better lenses and accessories. I am leaning towards the dig rebel. I picked up my lens kit on Ebay for 140 and it had the adapter tube, a 4 filter kit, 2x and .45x lenses, tripod with case and 2 bags. Great deal and good products but fall a little short for my wants with magnification.

The only adapters I would recommend using on the 602 are the Fuji and Olympus ones. From what I've read in the Fuji forum om dpreview the Kenko adapters aren't up to much.

I used the Fuji teleconverter (in reality about 1.4x rather than the claimed 1.5x) but had it been available at the time I would have gone for the Olympus TCON-17 (1.7x).

I have no experience with wide angle adapters but found myself wishing I had one on holiday :-/

On topic question here:

Is it normal for these tele-converters to reveal black circular marks on the corners of your shot?

I bought a .45x wide angle tele-converter for my finepix 3800 and at full wide, I get black marks on the corners and have to crop a good chunk of the edges out. Is it normal for converters to do that?
