Hello, I'm taking this design class and I have to compare some artwork.
I found the posters of the artist but everything is in Polish and I tried using a Polish to English translator but it isn't working.
This is the phrase:
Gruzlica opoznia dzielo odbudowy
I think Gruzlica means tuberculosis.
Here is the POSTER if it helps.
Thanks! |

My polish to english translator only translates the last two words ... to "the work of the restoration"

I think Gruzlica specifically refers to the innoculation of TB, not the disease itself.
This is probably the least helpful thing I could have put :) |

I just asked a Polish buddy of mine and he said:
"Gruzlica is a very bad illness. Somebody cannot finish rebuilding something because that illness is delaying the progress."
Intriguing eh? |

This from someone who lived in Poland at the time this was made
"It says that tuberculosis delays reconstruction. At that time (1948) Poland was largely destroyed and reconstruction was top priority for survival.
Tb was rampant during all the time that I lived there and many ignorant people had to be educated and prompted to get checkups and treatment" |

Thats great! Thank you so much. I'm glad I got an explanation too. Makes more sense now.
