erm ... I think you mean "spate" ... unless they were also playing Bridge whilst stealing them ... :)

Ah... Seems I should have said, "Something Langdon implemented last summer-ish after we had Stolen Images threads in spades." ;)

At least I know that he is checking his site. Not even a half hour and my last comment was deleted. :)

I definitely recognize many images from this site.

Off the top of my head there are images from:

DrAchoo
SandyP
AlexSaberi
MAK
marbo
Nuzzer
scarbrd
Brin

I'll add more to this list if I can put names to the photographs.

ETA: Names

I found this one Doc "...and he beheld a far green country under a swift sunrise."

Ah ok, that's me then. :) I must have not seen the right gallery.

On that same page (//www.bored-todeath.com/?m=200710&paged=3) there are a number of shots snagged from our recent Birds challenge. (I think?) I wish Langdon could determine what IP this guy is using and then block him. You can't block the IP of the webserver because its unlikely that's where he's downloading the images from :(

I do see he took down the post about the inspirational messages however he hadn't done anything remove any of the actual images OR removed other images that he yoincked from here.

edit: fixed grammar

Here is the full list of photos on that one page. They got lazy and didn't bother renaming the photos.

In "Breathtaking Photos of Birds"...
I looked at it before and again just now, and I THINK that I saw one from DPC in that section that I don't see anymore.
So maybe they are working on it.

I am probably going to start a witch hunt but for fun I ran a quick search on flickr

//www.flickr.com/search/?q=Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited

This makes me a bit upset. One of scalvert's shot was ripped off not once, not twice but at LEAST three times. (Actually twice by the same user????)

One from the upside down challenge got 2 comments on the fact that it was upside down!

and the Blue winner from that challenge was in the same entry as well - Guess w/ the white trees they didn't notice that one?
And I remember this one from a challenge, but not which challenge (somehow they stripped the "prohibited" off it, so I don't know where the thumbnail is).

OK, I finally see it. :) Thanks guys. Looks like my bald eagle above there too.

The @$$hole didn't even bother to strip off the DPC ID number from the photos!

Click on Rat Bastard! to view MY image!

It's back to that same old thing......since there's no world court, and who's got the money to go after these slimeballs, if'n ya don't wanna get ripped off, don't post 'em on the web.

This gut pretty much ripped off the whole rural landscape challenge.

I recognize most of the ones he entitled "Beautiful Rural Landscape Photos".

How original!

Virtually all of "his" October offerings were ripped off DP Challenge's people.

Okay, I was referring to the motivational posters that were mentioned in the OP, went through the whole site again, thought I was going crazy (fine, crazIER), then decided you meant the rest as well.
But the posters ARE gone, aren't they?? Or am I seriously blind/insane?

I seriously doubt he's taken a single one of the pictures on that site.

This is F@#$ing ridiculous. Every one of those photos were ripped off from this site. I think we should have limited access to the galleries on this site to members and registered users. Or at least the option to make them public or not. Like a check box on images to make them hidden or available to the public. If I could shoot photos at the caliber of some of these stolen images, I don't think I would participate here as much. Some of these would make great stock photos and possibly earn the photogs a little money. And yes I know "If you don't want them stolen, don't post them" Still a damn shame.

I've given up on asking the challenge images be watermarked after a challenge is over.

Everyone gets pretty upset when images are lifted from this site, but as the quality and creativity goes up here, DPC is rapidly becoming a hotspot for image "borrowing". Simple file renaming, though a good idea to make someone at least aware of it's reuse being unauthorized, but come on, really, click, drag, rename.

I had given a number of examples of what could be done after challenge
is over, and still have them in my Watermarking Examples folder:

Signed about to be yanko'd again....

*sigh*

This guy on Flickr credits the non-DPC pics, but the DPC ones he's just posted with the "copyrighted_image_reuse_prohibited" simply posted above them.

Can you not make a complaint to flickr? What is that site's policy on copyright material?

It looks like you have to do a bunch of stuff to get Yahoo/flikr to remove the image, including a statement, signature, and all kinds of written BS. I already left a comment that it's stolen so I'll see if that gets it removed.

It's because the image title defaults to the file name of the uploaded file. If you hover over the image you'll see the full name including the DPC image number.

53 right now. I wonder how many had the names changed?

Maybe instead of that DPC should tag them with "Stolen from DPC".
