just a funny thing i heard relating to the current urban theme.
i forget where, but they are cleaning up an older building - to be painted i think - so far the cost of removing pigeon crap is up around $120,000. in some areas the crap was two feet thick.

struck me funny - and sort of amazed it could build up that much.

At first I thought the "soup" was a suggestion. Then I realized it was your handle.

The "mining" of guano is a very big business in some places. I think it played a significant role in WW II (the nitrates were used for explosives manufacture as well as fertilizer). But like most organically-produced resources (petroleum, coal, wood) we are consuming it some thousands of times as fast as it can be replaced.

And if you've seen Dr. Strangelove ... you'll never think of Bat Guano the same way again.

It's a conspiracy, a conspircay I tell you!

Behind the average pigeon's vacant stare hides the mind of a genius!

Today it's pooping till roofs collapse... Tomorrow they take over the world! ALL HAIL THE PIGEON OVERLORDS! LOL

(Doesn't it remind you of the Simpsons episode with the "giant space ants" in the space shuttle with Homer?)

Have a good one, and watch out for pigeons...

P.S. - Hey. That could be a good subject for the "Exposed" challenge. Badly shot it would be guaranteed a last place finish. LOL!
