Looks like the family will be making a trip to Biltmore Estates February 15, 16, and 17th. We should be in Asheville around noon and on Friday and will have a day to kill. Anyone close or know of the area can direct us where is good to shoot?

And if anyone wants to meet up and hang with me, mrsrex, and the kids they are more than welcome to join Friday. Looks like Saturday the 16th will be at Biltmore Estates and Sunday maybe at Chimney Rock Park unless someone has a better idea for Sunday.

Rex,

You can shoot all around the Biltmore on the outside. There are some absolutely stunning statues. However, you can't shoot anything inside the mansion.

You are also really close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and not too far from Cherokee.

Should have mentioned that a Blue Ridge Parkway trip is possibly planned for this summer. We are going to drive to the northern most point and then take 6 days to make it the 429 +/- miles by way of camping.

How old are your kids?

DuPont Forest about 30 minutes from Asheville is great for shooting. There are alot of places, really.

Depending on the weather, me and my sprouts (6 and 3 -- and sometimes they are even sorta kinda behaved) may be able to meet up with you on that Friday. Then, if you want to do supper or something, Bernard can join us. There are some cool places in Asheville to eat.

Kids are 10 and 8. That is cool we can meet up if you want. I will pm you my number.

Tell me about it Eric. Actually $50 to get in. Hotel stay and all is around $300 at a local Hotel. The Biltmore stay was MUCH more.

Oooh this is weird. We are going to be there on March 1. I was wondering if we'd be allowed to take photos inside. Now I know. :) Guess I will be taking outdoor shots then. Let me know how your visit goes!
