I have a Canon Rebel XT that is not functioning as it should.
I have tried:
1) changing the lens
2) Removing both batteries for a while
3) Removing CF card

The camera focuses but will not take a picture, it won't turn off and just shows "busy" on the LCD. There are no button functions and the display will not come on.

Has anyone had this happen to them and what did you do?

Have you tried using a different CF card yet? I think the Rebel accesses the card as soon as it's inserted, which is before power-up.

I hope you have a battery grip...if so, remove it!

I do not think that it is the case...Repair may be needed.
