Welcome to this week's "Member of the Week" post. Every Sunday I will post the name of a member or user and a link to their profile. This will be our Member of the Week. Go have a look at their profile page and/or portfolio. Enjoy their photos, leave some comments and most of all post one or two of their photos in this thread so others can see them and enjoy them. If you like you can also write a little blurb saying why you enjoy this member's photos.
This week's Member of the Week is R a c h e l, RKT. And here are a couple of her photos.

Thanks for the nod Karen, very nice of you to think of me.
...and look! I'm the only one posting anything in my own member of the week thread...I am pathetic...but someone had too...
Thanks again for the mention, I'm glad to know at least some people appreciate my work.

Rachel is one of my all-time favorites here at DPC. I can often recognize her work in challenges - she has a wonderful eye for incredible beauty and emotion in everyday things, and a subtle but polished touch in processing. She's also very good with light - seeing it and capturing it - and that's really what it's all about.
Take a few minutes and immerse yourself in the quiet and the wonder - start with this one:
and explore from there! |

RKT is also a fav. She is an astounding communicator. I think she represents the very best at dpc - (and beyond these borders) Her technical ability, at the highest level, seemingly subtle, sometimes not necessarily apparent or obvious, is implemented, w/out fanfare into an astonishingly perceptive, personal vision. |

A quick glance at Rachel's portfolio proves that she could easily win ribbons if she wanted to. She's got the skills, and she knows how to make something beautiful. But she's too busy pursuing her own vision of things to conform to other standards. |

Again Karen, another fantastic choice for this week! I really enjoyed looking through her portfolio, and was continually impressed with how well she handles the darks and lights when processing. As I was looking through Rachel's portfolio, I thought it was interesting to see this quilt show up a few times.
And then I found her earlier shot when it was still being made
I love what she said in the photographer's notes in that shot, too.
Just one more shot...
Definitely a portfolio to spend more time browsing through! |
