The newer one (for $108) doesn't have that switch on it, is longer, and apparently goes to f/32 (instead of f/22) at the long end.

This one is a 75-300mm as descriptions suggest. Here is the information from Tamrons site on this lens.

This extended-range zoom offers true telephoto capability ideal for a
variety of applications including sports and wildlife shooting. The
lens also provides a beautifully blurred background effect that highlights
the main subject in portraiture, as well as âcompression
effectsâ that make the most of the telephoto lens. At the 300mm setting,
the lens enables you to approach subjects as close as 59â and provides
you with macro photography capabilities with a maximum magnification
ratio of 1:3.9. â¢Filter/∅62mm â¢MFD/59â â¢Mounts/Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony â¢Hood

This lens is actually a 70-300mm lens, look closely at the starting mm marker on the picture in the link you provided. Here is the information from Tamrons site.

Tamronâs lightweight, compact, high-image-quality telephoto zoom lens
with macro capability of 1:2 can be used with digital and conventional
cameras. The AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 is a Di lens using
an optical system with improved multi-coating designed. Flipping a
macro switch in the focal length range of 180mm to 300mm obtains a
maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 at th 37.4â minimum focus distance,
enabling close-up shots of flowers, insects, and other objects that normally require the use of a
specially designed macro lens. Moreover, this is a zoom lens that casually offers the distant capture
and foreshortening effect pleasures of the 300mm ultra-telephoto world. ·Filter /∅62mm ·MFD/37.4"
·Mounts/Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Sony ·Lens hood.

And here is a link to Tamrons pdf file on lens.
