Within the voting structure, as everyone knows, is the rule that you must vote on at least 20% of entries before your vote counts.
How many 'non-counting' votes is normal, and what do people find their change in score is at the end?
For example, a few minutes before Server Midnight I had 285 votes on my Irony entry, averaging around 5.36. Upon close of voting, I had 251 votes, averaging 5.602! So, I lost 34 votes, presumable due to the above rule, but it was beneficial, so they must have been low votes.
Has anyone else noticed how many votes they lose, and in general, what their score change is?
Jeff

My Oops entry had a large jump at the end of voting...it went from low 5.7 to 6.192. I didn't notice the vote count change though.
I noticed that in my first ever Member challenge that my score stayed the same! More members must vote on a higher percentage of pics!

I believe that the votes aren't counted until the 20% marker is reached. It is possibly that a large number of votes were discarded due to the pattern of voting (i.e. a lot of low or high votes) |

Well on the current challenge I had a vote in less than 5 minutes....that would mean that they voted on....One picture every 6 seconds....

This isn't right ya frog. The first thing my wife always does before she votes on any other photo is gives my photo a "1", and I see the change immediately :-)

Last time I bother quoting from the Rules page then ;)
Users must vote on at least 20% of the entries in order to have their votes counted towards the averages. Until a user votes for 20% of the images in a challenge, his votes are ignored. Voting patterns are also automatically monitored. Users whose vote patterns suggest an intent to unfairly disrupt the system will have their votes ignored and may be suspended from site functions.
I hope common sense and taste prevails and Nasti leaves it as a 1, :P |

Okay I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I think the wording is wrong in that sentence.

I banged my head quite hard recently and (maybe just temporarily) it has changed some of my views.
When I vote, I vote for all the photos in the challenge and I usually give low votes with few exceptions which are the photos which I really like in the particular contest (My low average has been criticized sometimes in the past).
However, for the Irony challenge, and adehering to a new philosophy, I decided to raise the level of my voting and to use only high votes to judge the pictures (if I remember well, my lowest vote was 7).
Funny and ironically enough, all my votes has been discarded (I can see that by my statistics) by the post-voting filter algorithm!!
I intentionally gave high votes, so I am a bit concerned about this outcome:
[1] Was the filter wrong in my case, or
[2] Was it so good to tell me: "Hey man, that is not the usual way you vote, you must have banged your head!"
In both cases, there was a lot of Irony in it. |

I may be wrong (and I'm sure Kiwi will point it out if I am) but I don't think the stats are updated after every challenge. My stats currently show 23 challenges entered, if you count the entries there are 24. |

Yup as Fadoi says they are supposed to be updated at midnight on Sundays, although sometimes they forget and it's done a few days later.

votes aren't SUPPOSED to count til a voter hits 20% rob...but they do. it's a glitch.

I think they are using the word "until" to mean "unless" -- a rather common (mis-)usage I think. As people have pointed out, in this case it makes the difference whether the votes are first counted and then discarded, or if they never appear until the 20% threshold is crossed. |
