A Western Digital "My Book" hard drive, 1 Terabyte in size, for only $262. I just paid about this much for a 500MB less than a year ago.

Whatta deal!

A caveat: note that it's a networked hard drive, apparently only ethernet or Wi-fi. No firewire or USB apparently...

nevermind, it has USB...

I got a 500 gb "LE" version last summer for $99 from BestBuy. The LE came with no software and is USB only, but for the price...and it works flawlessly. However, it's not big enough anymore :(

USB for that sized drive is next to useless. USB is useless compared to Firewire.

Well guys... I have a backup drive as well.... but now I'm in love with MOZY. It's online backup! You get 2GB free. But unlimited backup for $5/month! that's $60/year! The software is really easy to use with timed backups and more.

I know I sound like a cheap car salesman but it's a joy knowing your stuff is backed up securely off site! I sleep much better at night. :) And the price is right for me!

I signed up a copy of days ago for the free one to try it out first (have not got there yet)....

How much stuff do you have up there? Is it *really* unlimited? I am always a little skeptical.... I could do with @1.5TB of off-site backups :-o)
