| Can someone please steer me to what macro coupler and step down ring I need to connect a 62mm Tamron AF 75-300 to a 50mm Pentax-A? The Pentax is actually 49mm (I had gotten a 49mm coupler for it but have found out I can't go that route). When I called B&H the guy told me it couldn't be done. Please help!! |

| The largest macro couplers I've seen or that B&H sells are 58mm, but that doesn't mean you can't do it. Just get the 49mm to whatever size you'd like and attach it with a 62mm to whatever size you chose step down ring. Or you can get two Cokin adapter rings and glue and/or screw them together to make your own macro coupler. |

a suggestion very similar to  hyperfocal's - get a step down ring from 62-58 and a step up from 49-58 and get a 58-58 macro coupler...

I just noticed I had a similar set-up for my puzzle macro image. 52mm to 52mm macro coupler with 58mm to 52mm step-down ring to couple a Mamiya 75mm 2.8 lens on a Nikkor 105mm f2.8 micro.
