I found DPChallenge in December of 2004 and I've had a lot of fun here the last three years. I've also learned alot (might not know it from by recent scores...he-he), tried many things with a camera that I'd probably not have done if it wasn't for DPC and weekly challenges.
I've made some friends along the way, not just online, but real people to share a good time with out and about.
Some of what I read here at times embarrasses me. It seems like damn good is never good enough. More, more, more - we're not happy, etc, etc...
So, I just wanted to say "Thank You" for sticking with your idea of DPChallenge and keeping it available, alive, and current. I'm also thankful you haven't just said the heck with it, sold the DPChallenge name, and moved on. At times it must be tempting.

Yayyyy! I came online this morning..only to read whinging about this, complaining about that. How about be grateful for what you do have? Be grateful that you have the opportunity to enter and learn from the challenges? If you don't like what is offer....instead of whinging, make a constructive suggestion or make your own site and your own rules.
Langdon doesn't have to do as YOU want...this is his site. Yes, you pay for the privilege to be on a part of this site....but that doesn't mean you get to run the site solely how you want. Because I can guarantee you...that no matter who runs this site...there will always be unhappy people.
So be happy for what you have here. And that is -
- friends
- great information
- up to date knowledge
- challenge to strive further
- and lots of fun

I'm just a lowly government employee, but even I can afford $25/year. Especially considering how much I'm saving in not buying film (though I will soon be very addicted to my pinhole Holga, dammit). |

| I've had my share of ups and downs on this site. I have even had run ins with SC and the boss himself but I have learned a lot here and am still having fun. Thanks |

Heck, *I* live on a pension of less than 800/mo and *I* can afford it :-)
Add me to the list of those who thank Langdon, and the hard-working SC, for their roles in making this immensely complicated machine/community be as great as it is.

The muddy feet are tolerable - the mud dries and can be flicked off like boogers.
Now the flood-soaked soggy socks in the Microwave is quite another.

And a big thanks from me too... If not for this site I would not be learning as I am (and poo to those who say this isn't a learning site anymore... I'm learning tones... you just have to ask the right questions), and I would not be at the point of starting a business doing this [not that I'm the worlds best... but enough so to make a dollar or so]
