Does anyone have some tips on best way to photograph spiders and their webs?

Back light! I've done a couple and they were both back lit.
If you aren't afraid of spiders, and have a mist bottle handy, I've seen some incredible spider web shots with little mist droplets on them.

spiders.....I hate spiders. heaven help you if you fall down your cellar stairs and break your leg in the town i work in as a medic....lol.

Rita, I think strong light and even or darkly coloured backgrounds help. Of course, dew drops or a mister spray can be useful to pick up the threads. I'm looking forward to the misty mornings ahead...
This was my best web (with spider) shot to date:
I'll try some more when the weather and sunlight gets more interesting.
Crabappl3 - I love the window shot. A real cobweb that one.
Medic- just think what the world would be like without spiders. We'd be knee-deep in wasps and flies - and at least spiders don't sting or spread disease. ;)

back lit has worked for me as well. also, i'm with jon lucas, the window shot is awesome.

Spray mist or early dew with a dark background.
