I had the same problem and as soon as I stopped the graphics software (that comes with the graphics card--do you know what I am talking about? Not the drivers...) from automatically loading at startup it fixed the problem.

that's probably because the software was loading a profile that the card defaults to - and trumping the profile spyder is trying to load.

it might be worth checking into if you can turn off only the color profile loading - because the card typically keeps track of things like open gl and other 3d acceleration options. ie: 3d stuff might run subpar due to lack of the software options getting loaded.
