The last photos I submitted were rather low-resolution (a 14-year old can't afford membership XD).
I have selected 5 photos from a previous photo 'outing', and editing them. The triangular-shaped-light picture took about an hour and a half in iPhoto '08. The others took about half an hour each.

Only one of your links shows up here and I had to search around a bit to find the edited version you refered to. People around here are a little lazy, they need links.. :)
I think your edit improved the image a good bit. The fellow being in direct sunlight makes it a bit harsh, but you did a good job toning that down.
