I place this in rant because I believe the content would offend many in other forums.
But... to those who consider Christianity to be a dangerous cult, I would only point
out that there are OTHERS
you may wish to watch carefully..........

don't take it too personally... I don't think people typically single out Christianity as a "cult" but rather are referring to organized religions in general being cults (or cult-like).

what I find more disturbing about that video than the "A few good men" like speech he gives (someone said it was exactly the same, I haven't watched the movie lately to remember well enough), or even that he says that only scientologists can save the world, but that he salutes the picture of L. Ron Hubbard and that cheesy voiceover! My my! And there are people who think this devotion and fanatical ranting makes him a charismatic leader and a good role model!

Interesting. This one from the same site is (I think) the longer Cruise video. Watch the whole thing.

All I know is that if I get in an car wreck and Tom Cruise is driving by, he will stop and jump out and personally pull me out of the burning wreckage.

...and ironically, that scares me more than being burned to death.

Originally posted by Some choice quotes from the video:

"Get those spectators either in the arena or out of the playing field"

"I won't hesitate to bring ethics in on someone else"

"We are the authorities on getting people off drugs. We are the authorities on the mind. We are the authorities on improving conditions."

"We can bring peace and unite cultures."

"If you're a Scientologist, you see things the way they are."

"It's our responsibility to educate. Create the new reality."

Need some acronym definitions:
SP?
KSW?
PTSSP?

I think Tom is a powder keg and my prediction is that he will go down in a very spectacular and bizarre way.

You know what I think is sad??? That L. Ron Hubbard was a pretty good writer, but this Scientology stuff is just waaaaay out there (and not necessarily in a good way).

Oh, I don't take it personally at all. I'm not an evangelical Christian. I don't proselytize. I'm happy in my beliefs and
don't judge anyone else by them. If you believe that a blue rubber duck is God, I think that's cool. LOL I just think the LRH crowd are much more dangerous than the kookiest Christians. Listening to Cruise speak was like listening to Hitler's speeches of the late 30's. Well, except maybe Hitler was a bit better at it than Tom.

I think you're right about piling all the Christians in together. Lots of people do that when most Christians are pretty quiet about their beliefs and get along with most people.
