Hi all,
This is a photo taken with a borrowed 70-200L f4 earlier this year during a hawk flying display. The light was pretty poor (overcast Jan day, late afternoon etc) and I was (foolishly?) shooting on Av at this point. I changed later to TV to try and freeze the motion a bit more, but it was too late for this one.
Question is, apart from the inevitable point that I would have preferred it to be sharper, this photo just seems a little dull and slightly too 'red' for my tastes. What techniques could I use to try and make the subject 'pop' a little more?

this is a super quick edit i did...

just basic dodge/burn and a bit of saturation to bring out the color in the wings. added a curve layer.
nice capture though!

I'm maybe not one to comment as I'm quite a bit back on the learning curve, but the colors look vibrant. The only thing that stands out (and this would help the colors, too), is the darkness of the mid-tones. I'd try playing with curves to lighten & get more detail in the mid-tones without losing your darks. I think this would also make the color pop more.
