Just received the newest issue of Sports Illustrated in the mail. Just like Playboy, I tend to look at the pictures and maybe read a few of the articles. This issue has some wonderful shots by Simon Bruty taken during the Packers/Seahawks game last week. These to me are the epitome of sports shots. Encompassing the 23rd player of the game...the snow, his shots are simply mesmerizing.

Lord, if I am a good boy, can I be as good a photographer as Simon when I grow up? Ok...then how about can I get his cameras and lenses?

This is just the cover. The best shots are on pages 8-9, and 37!!!

I agree. I dream of being on the sidelines of an NFL game with big, bright glass.

When I go to badger football games here in Madison, I take my binos so I can get a better view of the photographers' equipment. "Hey, look, that guy's got a 600 2.8!"

While I'm such a casual sports fan that I'd never subscribe to SI, this issue is one that I definitely need to buy, and specifically for the photography.

I know for the Cheifs here in KC you only have to have proof of liablity insurance and then sign a contract that you won't make a profit from the photos and that they own partial copyright to them. It doesn't cost other than that and its great experience..... pretty much anyone can go. :)

AND, I'm not sure on everyone else's liabity insurance, but mine is simply an umbrella policy from American Family Insruance that is like 13 bucks a month - that worked for the NFL here in KC.
