Okay so not the greatest deal in the world but not bad either. I just recently got my 11th point and shoot and having no SD cards right now i had picked up a Lexar 512mb for 4.97. But i was at walmart today and saw this 2 back of 1 GB cards for like 19 something.
I benchmarked both the 1GB SanDisk card and the Lexar. I had never seen the SanDisk in this color/label so i figured maybe they were a new cheap line? Well they benched 10.2mb/s min and average and a 10.3 mb/s max. The lexar did slightly better and no worse. I benched them using HD Tune which is primarily meant for hard drives and use a targus usb reader on my laptop.
I also picked up a new targus usb hub sells on their site for 20 got it for 12.

On the same bargain hunter note, Fry's has a 2Gb Panasonic SD today for $15, and an 8Gb Patriot for $40.
I'm tempted by the Patriot at that price, but I'm still not confident of that brand. I have a 2Gb Patriot that sometimes gives an error in the camera after it has been in the computer. Not had that happen with any other cards. |
