Hey folks, I am looking for some good, reputable online College classes for either Photography or Graphic Design. I would love to take a resident course, but seeing as how I am currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan, that is not possible.

I have looked into The Academy of Art University and New York Institute of Photography.

Any advice any of you could provide would be great!

Thanks,
Mister K

I've heard some decent things about NYI's program.

I guess everyone has their own way of learning that works for them, but I still can't understand how you can learn photography online(easily). Don't get me wrong, I've definitely learned a lot from tutorials on google and especially from lurking the forums on DPC as well.

I'm currently enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I'll receive a Bachelors of Science in photography and from my personal experience, nothing beats being hands on at the shoots. You can learn a lot by assisting and watching other students on their shoots as well, not to mention being on those shoots is a major inspiration boost. Just my two cents, but I think it might be worth while to check out some local colleges-even some community colleges have some decent photo programs.

Best of luck to you though!

Man_Called_Horse thanks for the Link!

coryxmorton, I would love to attend at a regular school! Nothing beats getting together and shooting with fellow classmates, exchanging ideas and techniques. But unfortunately I can't attend in person. Over here in Okinawa, the military has several colleges that offer classes, but nothing in photography or design. So as you can see I am left to attend online classes til I return back to the United States.

I am a student of NYI, happy with them. Very inexpensive and very good course for first timers like myself. Check my profile; I would say I learned a lot, you will too. It teaches all concepts of photography.
